Our mission:
Break the Cycle of Poverty.
In the last 15 years, HALO has fed, quite literally, thousands of poor children, and still, around every corner, there is another hungry, helpless child. As we pondered this problem, we discovered something important in all this....that with most of these poor children, there is a mom close by who wants to feed and care for for her children, but is too poor herself. The light turned on, and we have now seen that the best way to help the poor is by helping them escape the vicious cycle of poverty.

Here at Halo International, we have seen the results. This is the sustainable, sensible approach; setting up micro-businesses and artist coops for mothers struggling to feed their children. Instead of a hand out, they get a hand up!
We also understand immediate needs....we have built a dozen emergency homes in Peru in the last 3 years. We understand disease.....and have brought medicines to over 3,000 children suffering from parasites and anemia. We understand hunger.... we bring emergency food to those most at risk.
